Almond Pecan Hemp Butter

Nut and seed butters are so easy to make and are much more cost effective than store bought brands.  I like to mix things up and combine different nuts and seeds rather than stick to one flavor.  And no, peanuts are not nuts, they are legumes.

  1. Combine nuts and seeds in a food processor.
  2. Pulse until nuts and seeds are broken up.
  3. Turn processor on medium to create butter.

I like to stop and scrape the sides every 3-4 minutes.  Total time is around 12-15 minutes, depending on what types of nuts and seeds you use.  Be patient!  The nut and seed mixture will form into a ball a few times prior to releasing their oils.  I like to put my butter in a glass jar.  Allow butter to cool before tightening the lid.
You can add a sprinkle of sea salt, a drop of vanilla, a dash of cinnamon, a bit of cocoa powder.  Be creative!!
