Breakfast Smoothie

This breakfast smoothie has become a regular morning ritual in our house.  It is nutrient dense and loaded with clean, plant based protein.

Breakfast Smoothie

  • 1 1/2 c water
  • 1/2 apple
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 2 scoops hemp protein powder
  • 1 T flax meal
  • 1 T chia seeds
  • 1 T hemp seeds
  • 1-2 T cacao nibs
  • handful raw nuts
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger
  • 1/2 inch fresh turmeric
  • 2 leaves fresh kale
  • 1 c frozen berries

Combine in blender.  I have a Vitamix and don’t need to chop up my fruits and veggies as small.  Hemp protein is the cleanest protein powder, loaded with essential amino acids.  Nothing but hemp in the ingredient list.

I generally double this recipe and keep the extra in the fridge for the next morning.

beets
fennel
romaine lettuce
spinach
swiss chard
cocoa powder
cinnamon
nutmeg
cloves
maca powder
other fruits
